Today Is The Day

14 Jun

This last Saturday, I finished the day with a much needed and overdue Girls Night Out with Sissy. I had given her a rain check the weekend before last due to my dying of the plague, but ever since that pesky bubonic-ness went away, I had really been looking forward to some girly sissy time.

We started the night out by, what else, SHOPPING. I’m sort of addicted to Old Navy lately (classy, I know, but when you are trying to cut back on spending, $15 shirts are REALLY tempting) and found a few of my favorite things.

Okay, I’ll admit it. The two things I bought are duplicates of things I already own, just in other colors. I am the only one who does that?

Anyway, we also hit Tiffanys (and picked out what Mr. Bee will be bullied in to getting me for our fifth anniversary next month) and Williams Sonoma to pick out a nice BBQ utensil set for Father’s Day. I figured that even though I had another week to shop for Father’s Day that I might as well get it out of the way when I was there, right?

We’ll get back to that later.

Sissy and I then hit my f.a.v.o.r.i.t.e. sushi restaurant in Belltown.

Mama & Sissy

They have these crunchy California rolls that I seriously want to make babies with. When you bite in to a piece, I swear it tastes like a combination of orgasm in your mouth and the kind of food that Jesus would serve you on a cloud platter in heaven. They are *that* good.

In fact, here’s a photo:

Nom nom nom

Oh wait. They didn’t last long enough for a photo… Seriously, I’m planning to have a wet dream about them tonight.

After dinner, while we drifted closer and closer to a food-induced coma, we went to a thing called Theatresports in Post Alley. It’s pretty much Who’s Line Is It Anyway and it was Hi-larious. I shit you not, I actually got a stomach ache from laughing so hard (not like that’s hard to do, though, huh?).

Oh, and did I mention the huge wall of chewed up gum that lives right outside of the theatre?

NOT nom nom nom

That’s right, Seattle’s Post Alley is home to (Officially) one of the most germy (and disgusting) tourist attractions in the world!

But I won’t lie; it kind of made us want to vomit.

After the show, it was past midnight and we both headed in opposite directions home. I was bored, as always, and listening to AM radio, as always, and happened to catch the tail-end of a news break. The “reporter” (and I use the term lightly) mentions not once, not twice, but probably three times, “Happy Father’s Day!”

So I’m thinking, “Fuck balls! I’m glad I bought Mr. Bee his present tonight!!” I ponder whether or not I should go to the grocery store at 1:30 in the morning to buy a card for him, but decided that, being a dude, he probably wouldn’t care that much.

Once home, I get out one of Bee’s big drawing pads and make this quick note for him to see first thing in the morning:

Me draw pretty one day

He made me this one on my birthday:

Damn, I wasn't very sneaky there, huh?

I really made a point all day to make sure that he could nap and take it easy, because, you know, it’s Father’s Day, right? We open presents and when we realize that we’ll be making a quick stop at my parents’ house later, I decide that on the way, I should run in to the grocery store to get a Father’s Day card for my dad. We have plans to celebrate with brunch on the 21st, but it’d be rude to see my dad on Father’s Day without a card, right?

We get to the grocery store and I run in solo to buy cards quickly. That’s when I see this:

I will hunt that fucking news guy down, I swear to GOD.

Mother. Fucker.

Seriously?! Are you fucking kidding me?!?! So, yeah, Mr. Bee will get to celebrate Father’s Day twice. But next weekend I’ll be the one taking the extra nap.

Is Baby B a Bridget? We have a Bridget in common???

Also, thanks for the tip on the restaurant. I’ll file that away for a night out without our Bridget.

Add me to the list of people who buy the same shirt in different colors! Glenn always says “Don’t you already have that shirt?” Well, yea, but not in blue LOL.

Over from SITS to say Hi. That post is so funny… neither of you knew it wasn’t Fathers day yet. LOL
A wall of gum… I think it would make me throw up too!
Hope you had a nice weekend anyway.

We had a super fun night! I totally want to go to theatresports again, minus stupid drunk girl in the front row. When can we start planning the next one?
